terrible analogy, Noah preached to them for almost a 100 years, and everyone thought he was a quack.
infact its very interesting that in the book of enoch. It was the giants the nephile or whatever they were called was having these visions of the world getting submerged.
Enoch went to them and interpreted the visions for them to understand the comming judgment.
the the book of enoch isnt in the bible its a very old story which was passed down through the ages. Its missing parts and peices, but that part stood out.
God gave the world much time to join Noah, he has Given this world almost 2k years to Join Jesus.
But Jesus is the ark in the new covenant. and one day That grace will be shut off and the judgment will come, just like a flood to those who dont believe.
as the bible declares it will over take them like a thief in the night
So it was good, for all those people to drown. Right.

When does something have to make sense to the human mind, for it to be biblical ?

We grew up with sin, were sinners, sin is norm to us. However it isnt normal to God, and we really have no clue What Sin Does to a Holy God, or how much He hates it, we dont even have a comparison.
I am amazed Timmy gets away with the mockery of the bible like he portrays on this forum.
Phew.
Nothing personal, Timmy.

"Many Christians do not try to understand what was written in a verse in the Bible. Instead they approach the passage to prove what they already believe."
My rebuttal was very on point, and makes all kinds of logic and reasonable sense!
You tell me, are we more in line with who God really is, when we are compassionate and desiring all to be finally saved. Or when we see him as a tyrant, that will torment those that won't or cannot find the narrow path in a very short physical life? Don't say our ways are not His ways, when we are in line with what all Christianity declares is His character and nature, then turns around declares ED or annihilation. Does His mercy endure forever??? Does it Michael?
I do not assume anything when I read of judgment in the Bible. I take it for what it says. When it comes to these issues I dare not believe what I WANT TO believe. His ways are past finding out. You consistently take things out of context. My point that you missed was that you were most illogical to respond to someone who claimed we cannot know God's ways and accusing him of assuming he did know God's ways by claiming an eternal hell, when you turn around in your response and assume God's ways and say God would not do that. When you begin to speak about what you think He would or would not do you stand on a totally foundationless basis by insisting YOUR ASSUMPTION of His ways determines your doctrine of hell. If you cannot see that now, you never will. Peace, bro. Nothing personal.

I was paraphrasing Scott's post. He said very clearly that things in the Bible do not have to make sense to us. There is a strong implication there that it does not, in fact, make sense, at least in parts. I agreed.
