This is not your average Comcast/Time Warner/Cox cable connection you know.
If you had 10k people streaming at 100 kbps, that is
10,000 * 100,000 = 1,000,000,000 minimum throughput. Or rather in readable terms 1Gbps. So they have to pull a fiber connection somewhere. Either at the UPCI headquarters, or hosted by a company to provide that bandwidth. Not cheap at all.
I can see why the cost needed to be offset by pre-registration and a slight fee.

I am actually aware of what it takes, but my point is that it would be nice for the price to have been more affordable so people can view it if they want. I think the prices were made based on the idea that churches might be willing to pay that for the whole church to watch. Those prices are not justifiable for individuals.
