Re: How the T. Drost Situation Is effecting Me

Charmed life...LOL.

Here, give up your home/job/etc and move to a foreign country where in many cases they don't speak your language. Live hundreds or thousands of miles away from all your friends and family. Maybe, just maybe, you will get enough support to actually pay the bills.

Yeah...charmed.

Are you sure it is only the Drost situation? The US State Department has warned Texans to stay away from Mexico. It is am extremely volatile place to be right now.

Re: How the T. Drost Situation Is effecting Me

In order to "submit to those who have rule over you," and in order for "everything to be done with decency and in order", the would be AIM'er who wants to go to Mexico needs to wait.

God is Sovereign.
If He has called you knowing that your understanding was that He was going to use you through the UPCI, He will either make His Calling for you so clear while opening another door that will be IMPOSSIBLE to reasonably refute as an act of GOD or He will work things out with the UPCI.

You could always leave the UPCI, but in this situation, I think that decision would be a bit hasty.

God has ordained human government.
God has ordained church government.
You need to wait.

God will protect missionaries there. I've heard stories, anyway. (And sometimes, well, He decides not to protect them. )

That is true. If you feel called of God and something stops you for a while, you might find out later it was for a reason. I certainly wouldn't go to Mexico unless God put a very strong burden on my heart to go there - Or any country for that matter.

The part of Mexico I'd be going to is within the safe zone. No travel advisories.

Yeah...charmed.
1. No one makes a missionary give up SQUAT. They go of their own accord. Don't sign up if you're going to whine about the mission.

2. Missionaries (UPC) are 100% funded. They get appliances, vehicles, great retirement, birthday and Christmas gifts and many times use the natives as personal servants.

I'm trying to understand what's so rough about the gig. Also find it hard to offer sympathy.

Seriously???....I have a friend in missions right now that is being followed constantly by authorities waiting for her to slip up...she is is constant danger...and yet because of her love for the Gospel she keeps on. Her husbands (deceased now) health was broken after 27 years on the field, they were shot at, robbed, assaulted, and in danger multiple times.

You are so bitter against the UPC you have nothing good to say about any part of it.

Get over yourself.

I don't care what denomination where a person is called. A missionary is a calling where you will see your rewards on the other side of this earth.

I have much respect for missions.
