Not trying to split hairs here, but gluttony negatively effects the next generation if you have kids and it harms your walk with God and that hurts Him .

I think the point PO was making was that people don't normally eat so much that they then mentally or physically abuse another person because they're so FULL they can't think straight or make good decisions. I would agree that gluttony is mostly a sin that only hurts the person committing it, assuming we're talking about direct physical or mental harm/abuse.

People use prescription medications that way when abused.

Perhaps, but I've never had a glutton try to strangle me. I have had a drunk attempt to.

I understand your perspective on this and the point you are making. Heres my perspective, I have a neighbor that is housing 3 generations of gluttons ranging in ages mid 50s down to 10yrs. I see the lifestyle choices the adults make and clearly see how it effects the kids in the house. Im talking about a 10year old that is severely obese and labors to walk. I guess our points only differ in that your talking about immediate, violent physical/emotional abuse, where as, I am speaking of long term, learned, self inflicted abuse. Both are deadly. Your points are duly taken.
