We do not have to like the unlikeable, but we are commanded to love the unlovable. Jesus loved us when we were His enemy. The carnal mind is the enemy of God.
I wonder what would happen if we'd (those who have read this thread) banded together for a season of prayer and fasting for MAD? You think God is powerful enough to give him ample opportunity to repent? What if they only way he'd repent is if his power and country where brought to nothing?
Maybe we'd do well to pray for God's Kingdom to come and His will be done on earth.
For the record :
I DO NOT LIKE AH- MAD-INEJAD. I wish every failure to come his way where his plans involve death and destruction.

And for the record, I didn't say that God didn't love him, but God does support the death penalty and I support what God supports. If the man were to die, my feelings wouldn't be hurt.

I am going to have to assume that you are speaking of OT edicts given by God...
God also supported stoning those who commit adultery, pick up sticks on the sabbath etc. The same God who gave the edict to stone the adulterer spoke forgiveness when Jesus told the woman caught in the very act of adultery to go and sin no more.
Is this something God would, in any way, condone today?
Do you feel that the death penalties doled out and supported in the OT have any place in the new and better covenant?

OT edicts? Well, yes read Gen.9:6. I doubt that I am talking about adultery and stoning since this particular passage talks specifically about man taking another mans life. Also, you can take comfort in knowing that this was before the law of Moses. This was not written specifically for the Jews, but for all mankind in its context. The last time I checked, I have yet to hear of a national ruler turning to God after being a murderer.

David? Oh I get it, under the Law he was supposed to be stoned. Thanks for bringing David into this discussion, but I was actually referring to todays terms. So are you comparing Ahmadinijad with David now?

lol, you have to be kidding me.
You stated you had never heard of a national ruler turning to God after being a murderer...
and David fits that description...
Thus you have...

Well, okay redeemedcritic if you say so,LOL! Compare David with Ahmadapuke, Hitler, Mussolini, Hussein, Mao and all the other recent nut jobs with a biblical character. But if that is how you base your argument, in the fact that I didn't mention David, then your argument still has flaws.
