I dunno - you want to hear a layman's point of view?
When I was "in church", one thing that always bothered me seriously was how the ministers seemed to feel like they needed to have their own little exclusive club that you couldn't belong to unless you were a minister. They couldn't fellowship with us little people. There were things we couldn't know (as if they had a secret society of something). By the way, since leaving the UPC over 20 years ago, I have attended a Methodist church and now an Alliance Church. That attitude is not held in either of those organizations, just fyi.
So now here we are on the forum. For a while it was ok for the ministers to fellowship with us. But somehow somebody's buddy found out that they were hanging out with us little people. And now the pressure's on. So they've broken away and formed their own little exclusive group where you can't get in unless you are a minister or minister's wife.
See - nothing new under the sun
By the way, I realize that this doesn't apply to all of you ministers on here. And I APPRECIATE that!! Thank you for staying with us. We need your wisdom and your input. Just like the ministry can also learn from listening to the lay people.
