Well the Bible says, "As a man thinketh in his heart, so is he..." and "Death and life lie in the power of the tongue..."
But good luck and bad luck?! As LC said earlier, it sounds like superstition to me.
right! If I go around with a negative attitude, my actions will follow and I will mess things up, spill things, drop things, hurt people's feeling and so on...because of my attitude... I have seen this...For those who tend to be on the negative side of life, it isn't bad luck, it's their own perspective. They can't see the good in life and they will only see what is wrong....their actions and their expectations will be along the same lines....
Just like those who see the good in life... They will find joy in hard times and they will make it thru... Their actions will also follow their outlook on life. They may mess up, but they will see it as a learning experience and they will make the best of it... It's not because they have good luck...

Excellent use of scripture! I think the semantics may be different...maybe we should say "Chance" instead of "luck".
Blessings, Rhoni
'Chance' is even worse than 'luck'! (No offense to Chancellor! lol)
'Luck' comes from the pagan idea of 'Fortune', a pagan goddess who it was believed was responsible for what we call 'luck' or a person's 'fortune' (ie the events in their life, good and bad). Chance however implies pure randomness, which is a practical admission of atheism.
Now, of course the word 'chance' is often used to simply mean 'what happens' with no thought of true randomness, but that's a semantic issue.

You don't believe in "pure randomness"? I know a teacher of Chaos Theory (know OF him, not him personally) who would love to sit down with you.

I have debated 'chaotes' numerous times. The conclusion? Chaos theory is not actually about 'pure randomness' but resolves into 'well, we cannot see the mechanisms of cause and effect in certain situations so we call it chaos.'

Been there, done that.
So..... Just out of curiosity then, if in your opinion, there is no true chaos or randomness, then perhaps life could have sprung from lifelessness? After all, people who say it isn't possible use the idea of chance and "extreme unlikeliness" as reasons that it could not have happened.
