Oh, ok, I get it. This was some cleverly executed plan, whereby Obama would go to the wailing wall, pretend to be praying to God, when he's secretly a Muslim, leave his prayer there, with the understanding that a secret operative would take the message and leak it to the media, all in the hopes that it would help sway American Christians into voting for him?
CC1, talk about a conspiracy! Listen, your son bought a black CAR, not helicopter!! I know it's easy to get confused when you get older, and seeing that black CAR, not helicopter, has you paranoid right now about secret goings on, but I believe I can safely say this wasn't a staged stunt to manipulate you into voting for Obama, ok?
No conspiracy theory here. I am just saying if he has half a brain he knew there was a good chance a reporter or someone was going to retrieve that piece of paper.
It doesn't make him evil. Anyone in his position would know that and probably make sure they took that into consideration with what they wrote.

"We did not wear uniforms. The lady workers dressed in the current fashions of the day, ...silks...satins...jewels or whatever they happened to possess. They were very smartly turned out, so that they made an impressive appearance on the streets where a large part of our work was conducted in the early years.
"It was not until long after, when former Holiness preachers had become part of us, that strict plainness of dress began to be taught.
"Although Entire Sanctification was preached at the beginning of the Movement, it was from a Wesleyan viewpoint, and had in it very little of the later Holiness Movement characteristics. Nothing was ever said about apparel, for everyone was so taken up with the Lord that mode of dress seemingly never occurred to any of us."

Bro....many political figures and dignitaries have left their prayers at the wall without anyone revealing what the prayed. In fact, this is a first. Obama had no reason to think his prayer would be treated any different. Here's the deal....people hate Obama so much they'll politicize his prayer. I think it's more likely that some bottom scavenging right wingnut stole the prayer TO politicize it.

The reports are saying that it was a Jewish student. They're aren't near as many people who hate Obama as those who are frightened of him. He truly is a scary individual! I have never hated anyone and I'm am frightened of what Obama can do to not only this country, but other nations as well. He has the ability to UNITE the world, as it were. At least, to hear the media say it, he does. That, in itself, is scary!

Esther....my wife is from a Jewish family. Most don't realize this but it has been a tradition for centuries to write one's prayers and place them in the wall. Many presidents, politicians, and dignitaries have done this. There prayers weren't revealed. Obama had no reason to think that his prayer would be treated any differently. He'd be silly to suppose such. The reality is that someone got so curious about what Obama prayed that they snatched his prayer and revealed it. It was all about some observer getting 15 minutes of fame.

The custom has always been that the prayer would be private. No one was to see it. Why would he think someone would go against tradition and reveal a private prayer? I honestly believe this act was sincere and he had no idea it would be leaked to the public.

apparantly the paper that reported this "prayer" is also reporting that the Obama camp told them to pick up the prayer and print it!

Paper, rapped for outing Obama note, claims campaign pre-approved leak.
By Israel Insider staff July 28, 2008
What initially seemed to be a journalistic scoop of dubious moral propriety now seems to be a case of an Israeli paper being played by the Barack Obama campaign. Maariv, the second most popular newspaper in Israel, was roundly criticized for publishing the note Obama left in the Kotel. But now a Maariv spokesperson says that publication of the note was pre-approved for international publication by the Obama campaign...

Renda, there was a huge backlash against this paper for publishing the note. Apparently, making the contents of these prayers is a really big no-no over there in Israel. What is suspect to me is that they didn't say his campaign had approved its release until after they were getting raked over the coals for releasing the contents of the note. Also, this newspaper had several anti-Obama articles at their website. I would hardly consider them fair and impartial.
