This is where I stand right now:
I believe the Bible to be written by Men, good men, who loved God, and wrote down their stories and experiences that occured during their quest for a relationship with God. I do believe that it can be inspiried, just as a sermon, a song, or a poem can be inspired. But I do not believe that all parts of it are inspired, nor do I believe it to be infallible.
I believe it to be largely influenced by the cultural, the times, and the gender of the writers.
But I do believe that it has a purpose. Not only a historical purpose. But it is the best
written account we have of Jesus.
But I believe that it is the Spirit that is to lead us, guide us, teach us, comfort us, etc. (not the book).
I do believe that the book contains a lot of wisdom.
