I know it probably won't be popular but I will say that IMO a minister has to view this a good bit differently. In some ways it wouldn't matter whose kids were there or how public the place was, there will always be someone who would see the two people together and make something of it.
For a minister it is better to avoid even the appearance of impropriety. JMO.
