Her attention span isn't great, and we said to the Phsyciatrist that no way we are giving her drugs, and I was surprised her teacher supported me on it.

You are the parent and you have to decide what's best for your child.
I want to inform you that the brain is an organ like the rest of the body. If it isn't working right and meds can help it, then it's your obligation to make sure she receives them. Just like if her heart wasn't working right, you wouldn't deny her meds that would help her live longer.
I understand the issue with the stigma attached to psych meds, but it's due to lack of understanding.
Again, I want to reiterate that you know your child. If you believe something else can be done other than meds, do it. Don't put her on meds just because someone tells you it's best.
