yes, but today we hold ourselves to a much higher standard.
Jewelry was no problem to people in the Bible but we have made it sin.
Tithing was only produce and animals and was done away with the rest of the Old Covenant but we now apply it to wages, services, goods, and gifts received.
Paul compared the Chistian life to sports but we do not do sports now.
Jesus was a glutton and a winebibber but we only do the glutton part now, the wine is a sin.
Jesus was a friend of sinners but now we verbally abuse them and withdraw from them for fear they'll contaminate us.
The early believers shared their goods and time with others but now we do not want to "support them in their sin" or "enable" them.
