I wasn't on the forum at the time but I expressed my disgust with David Letterman in the middle of an illustration in a sermon. Letterman has always been my favorite, but what he said about Palin was indefensible.
Look, I know what you're getting at. It really doesn't matter what my political leanings are but since you're dropping the insinuations, I've never voted for a Democrat in my life. But I have befriended many liberals and was very close to the son of a major liberal congressman. As it turns out, he was a human being just like I was.

No, I'm not dropping insinuations. I'm simply asking questions. I don't know you so I don't want to simply assume things and make knee jerk reactions.
Often times people are very politically driven and hold a double standard. My questions were to determine if that was the case with you or if the whole issue was simply a matter of humor and taste.

ALL posters have to realize that EVERY other poster has an opinion, just like they do-- and they have a right to express those opinions. It's how they go about expressing those opinions that make the difference.
We can have differences of opinion, disagreements, etc on this forum without stooping to namecalling and insults. Not every one is going to agree with what a person posts here, and they are gonna hold their feet to the fire on things that get posted.
We are all supposed to be adults here, and the admin team expects people to act like adults.
If you have a personal problem with another member, take it to PM with that member. If it can't be worked out among the two posters privately, then ask for admin to mediate and help. That's what we're here for. We're not babysitters who are here 24/7 to read and monitor every single post.
Do not start a war on the forum and reduce numerous threads across the forum to namecalling and insults. That just ends up with threads being locked, and good conversations being halted because of childishness.
We try to allow some freedom of opinions here, because they are so tightly regulated in other places. However, with that freedom also comes much responsibility.
In the end, we're all responsible for our own actions, and keeping ourselves in check. After all, we are accountable for the words we speak-- and for those we type on this forum.
