Since Aquila apparently doesn't feel like answering you..

We can know that these are lying accusations in different ways.

We'll start with the fact that they are targeting children. After all, adults
might be in a position to fight back.

Then we'll move on to the motive of the Jackals that need to gain some
street cred. Again, since they are targeting children they are going the
safe route and using the fear of the people to do their dirty work for them.

What it boils down to is a power play by those that I would have considered
my prey many years ago. After all, one of my pet peeves was someone
going after the helpless. It still is, but I am forbidden by my Lord to
use magic sooooo..... they will continue this garbage until someone close
to them manages to make them stop.
OR maybe, just maybe.. the 'church' will get off it's blessed assurance and
run them out of the country.

I'm curious flute, since I don't ever recall meeting a former witch, what exactly did your magic do? I mean, just bring them bad luck or were there other things it could do also?
