It's how dial phones work, making and breaking contact 1 or 2 or 3 etc. times as the dial spins back to "home" position. My son (not the same one) and I want to learn how to whistle accurately enough to "dial" a number with DTMF tones (like pushbutton phones do). It takes two tones, so we need to whistle the right tones as a duet. 852/1477 Hz, 697/1209 Hz, 697/1209 Hz is 9-1-1.
