I don't know about that. I know too many folks who are stuck in the extremes. When I see Christians of either extreme mistreating one another it makes me a bit angry.

I think there are two ways standards can become a heaven or hell issue:
1 - go to a church where standards are taught and use them as a point to rebel and cause division with backbiting and complaining

Thats the wonderful thing about biblical principles... they are solid and timeless. You got guys out there pushing rules made up in the 1940's that don't cover everything for 2010, which is why people go on about television but use the internet and say that is fine.
The principles of the bible applied to both will keep people away from bad web sites and bad TV programs. If you try and cover every little thing with rules you will have a never ending list that will need daily revisions.
I have a solid standard on that, medium well, and I preach that standard at every steakhouse I go to.
My standard is medium rare...I'd go with rare on some cuts, but my husband would probably vow to never kiss me again!
