You obviously need some schooling.
If a word has multiple meanings and usages, it doesn't use every meaning at once. You have to choose the meaning that best fits the overall context and go with it.

I consider anyone who adds to scripture so they can shore up what they already believe instead of taking it at face value to be the TRUE liberal. You're not appreciating God's Word for what it has to offer; you're starting out with an agenda and twisting scripture to fit around your personal preferences. In the process, you completely lose credibility.
If you're the face of conservatism, then I'm happy to be on the liberal side of the fence.
