And what does this say about the viewers? Are they judging a dance contest or playing politics?

Does it really matter? If it's really up to the public, then it's up to the public. If these shows don't like that, then they can make the decision entirely up to the judges. That wouldn't be in the shows' best interests, though, because needing viewer participation is probably a major component in their ratings.

I think it matters, and I think it's interesting. Is this ANOTHER post that you don't and that's that?

The "wednesday morning" conversation is: what criteria are the viewers using to vote?
