the supreme court has ruled this.

a case in Louisiana was brought because of DUI check points. they were stopping all cars and checking for alcohol. someone took it to the court and the court ruled they can stop everyone but they cannot single one person out without probable cause.

I think it is stupid. I think a check point is a serious constitutional violation but it is legal these days.

So, I'm driving along and a policeman can just pull me over because he wants to? I don't have to be breaking a law?
