America going downhill since 1973
This is something that caught my eye recently.
All financial charts show that the peak prosperity for the US, adjusted for inflation, was in the latter months of 1972 and early 1973. Since that time there has been a constant erosion of prosperity for this nation and a constant decline of the middle class.
There has been a lot of study on this from various financial gurus but I was thinking.....
What was the stimulus that started this downfall?
Was it oil?
Was it housing?
Or is this the result if something else?
What major decision, on a national level, was made by this country in 1973 that would cause a change in it's prosperity?
Could it be that the decision to embrace Roe vs Wade has now brought a national judgment?
Psa 33:12 Blessed is the nation whose God is the LORD; and the people whom he hath chosen for his own inheritance.
Psa 33:13 The LORD looketh from heaven; he beholdeth all the sons of men.
Psa 33:14 From the place of his habitation he looketh upon all the inhabitants of the earth.
Psa 33:15 He fashioneth their hearts alike; he considereth all their works.
Since this decision from a national level we now see national judgment.
Just recently we have seen the low-mark of gay marriage, gays in the military, the fragmentation of the family structure, and the total offensive against anything Godly and righteous.
The Church is increasingly coming under attack, righteousness is being mocked, Christianity ridiculed and discriminated against, and this is only the beginning.
So what is a Godly Christian to do?

Absolutely. 100%. BUT, Roe v Wade was not the 'beginning', it was a symptom of a greater problem, that had begun much earlier. As Christians of all denominations etc began moving away from a Biblical worldview, and embracing modernism and liberalism, and as people began to no longer view the Word of God as something to actually LIVE by but as just a fairy tale to tell the kids on Sunday mornings, the nation of course began to embrace things that are contrary to the Word of God.
It was a series of incremental steps, but I do believe Roe v Wade was a high water mark in the downfall of this nation, definitely.

Canada just opened the door to legalised bestiality. I believe either Oregon or Washington state is making similar moves (again, incrementally, bit by bit). Things that were unheard of only 20 years ago are being passed off as 'mainstream'.

First of all, live for God, unashamedly. And that includes promoting the kingdom of God, and His righteousness. Christians are servants of a King. That King has laws, that govern His kingdom. We must stand for His decrees, regardless of what the world says.
We should also remember this warning:
My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge: because thou hast rejected knowledge, I will also reject thee, that thou shalt be no priest to me: seeing thou hast forgotten the law of thy God, I will also forget thy children.
( Hosea 4:6)
Get your kids out of the government indoctrination centers, teach them truth instead of humanistic antichristian lies and garbage. Preachers need to emphasise this to parents, the church needs to support and promote saving our children, and Christians need to return to God's ways and hold them up as the blueprint for all we do. Otherwise, if we turn away from God (regardless of our religious professions on Sunday) then our children will be lost.
Hosea 4:6 is being played out before our very eyes.

"We did not wear uniforms. The lady workers dressed in the current fashions of the day, ...silks...satins...jewels or whatever they happened to possess. They were very smartly turned out, so that they made an impressive appearance on the streets where a large part of our work was conducted in the early years.
"It was not until long after, when former Holiness preachers had become part of us, that strict plainness of dress began to be taught.
"Although Entire Sanctification was preached at the beginning of the Movement, it was from a Wesleyan viewpoint, and had in it very little of the later Holiness Movement characteristics. Nothing was ever said about apparel, for everyone was so taken up with the Lord that mode of dress seemingly never occurred to any of us."

I believe that we are going to see further judgment in this nation, it will not repent as a nation so will bring on itself the judgments of God.
But that being said, I do believe that as history has taught us, there will be Godly Christian groups that will form communities or associations, based upon righteousness, that God will bless.
With those blessings will come prosperity. With those blessings will come a higher level of living that the unrighteous will not see.
I do believe that this is the hour for the Church to shine.
We must hold fast to the ideals that are Godly and righteous.
God bless His Church.

this seems to be a call to cloister, which def has its appeal, but i don't think this is what God wants; it doesn't rep a "ship at sea," but a ship in a safe harbor.
With those blessings will come prosperity. With those blessings will come a higher level of living that the unrighteous will not see.
i think we strive to attain OT standards in a NT reality, making a prosperity gospel attractive. Scripture warns us about a mindset that views yesterday as being better than today, and while i sure feel it too, i think this is not from God. Who here would willingly go back to life even 100 years ago? Hasn't the standard of living for virtually the whole world risen dramatically since then?
Granted, we have Scriptural conundrums @ "Job was a righteous man, and very rich" and "Remember, in your life you had all the good things," but we underwent a dispensational change in the interim, that i don't think the church has yet caught up to.

Re: America going downhill since 1973
What is "America" if not some place in the world that you might identify with, that is not the Kingdom?

Didn't I predicted many years ago that eventually people would be able to marry Lassie and Fido?
Hey I am a prophet!
Not really, anyone with some sense could see this was coming.

time to hide your pets
or one day someone will knock at your door asking for your pet in marriage.
and you will be asked to fork over the costs of the wedding.
