Definitely decided it was NOT evil or against God. That doesn't mean that I agree with everything, but the same can be said of any group or "denomination" I love the Apostolic church. Just don't choose to be there at this point in my life - mostly because I disagree with the standards issues. To me, they are not an issue.

I hate that word.

It comes from the word "Denominate," or to give a name.

In math it is the multiples of a number...that is to cause one number to denominate causing one number to be divisible by another.

It's ugly regardless of what definition you want to apply to it.

I'm not going to be named by any other than whose name I was baptized in. Neither am I going to be divided or fractionated. I belong to God and I will not assume the name of another. I belong to the body of Christ which is not divided.

So are you Pentecostal?

Everyone that claims to be of a denomination or theology also claims to be a disciple of Christ

Apostolic is defined on AFF as:

  1. There is One God. This one God reveals Himself distinctly as Father, Son and Holy Ghost.
  2. The Son is God himself in a human form or "God manifested in the flesh" (1Tim 3:16)
  3. Every sinner must repent of their sins.
  4. That Jesus name baptism is the only biblical mode of water baptism.
  5. That the Holy Ghost is for today and is received by faith with the initial evidence of speaking in tongues.
  6. The saint will go on to strive to live a holy life, pleasing to God.

Because we have gotten our eyes off the prize of the high calling and have settled for a lower one.

When we define ourselves by a denomination then we define ourselves by a lower standard.

IMO... of course.

I believe every word of that message as the only plan of salvation and the only access to the Door which was opened on that DAY, to the whole world...which is Jesus and HIM crucified, buried and rose again. Thus, by following that same pattern given in that message, I too become identified with His Death, Burial and Resurrection.

That is the ONLY plan of salvation. Anything short of this is a lie. Nevertheless, the children of perdition are predestined to believe that lie. Only remember what I said about the doctrine of Predestination. It is limited to foreknowledge.

Did I say I was Pentecostal?

I just don't want to be unclear lest I lead someone astray.

Re: Claiming Denomination

When asked what faith should be written down when I've gone to the hospital, I always say Pentecostal.

I can't write down the actual church I attend as they don't have a "visit the sick ministry". For reasons I'm not clear, but it's the one thing I can definatley say I don't like about that church.
