No, the new improved Tide is the new detergent. No, wait... never mind.

It sounds great to me to "focus on righteousness". II Tim 2:7, psalms 19:14.
Until you post quotes from DKB and RM showing they teach against surrendering, relying, and trusting you have a moot point here.

2 Tim 2:7
Endure suffering along with me, as a good soldier of Christ Jesus. 4 Soldiers don’t get tied up in the affairs of civilian life, for then they cannot please the officer who enlisted them. 5 And athletes cannot win the prize unless they follow the rules. 6 And hardworking farmers should be the first to enjoy the fruit of their labor. 7 Think about what I am saying. The Lord will help you understand all these things.
Psa 19:4 Their line is gone out through all the earth, and their words to the end of the world. In them hath he set a tabernacle for the sun,
Not to pick at what you just said, but not really sure what 2 Tim 2:7 and Psa 19:4 mean to the topic, Hoovie.

Re: The New Deterrent?
Rob, did you mean "focusing on sin" like focusing on how you can cheat your brother or sleep with your neighbor's wife? Or do you mean, study the unbiblical dogma that is uncut hair, etc?

Awe - yes typo... should be Psalms 19:14
Let the words of my mouth, and the meditation of my heart, be acceptable in thy sight, O LORD, my strength, and my redeemer.
As to 2 Tim 2:7, When we meditate on God's word, the LORD Himself will enlighten our understanding.

Psa 19:14
Still a stretch IMO on the topic of "focusing on doing right" in order to do right.
2 Tim 2:7
Hoovie... still not following....

Hmmm... I am thinking meditation on God's righteousness could do nothing but set things in order.
Are you saying something else here? Is McGee saying focus on our own righteousness ability in order to accomplish righteous behavior?
