I will agree with you on the smoking part. I keep forgetting how many kids you have! I keep thinking 2 or 3...... LOL

Re: Adornment!!

I don't know if any of you find these things interesting... but the Discovery Channel has a documentary out called "The Science Of Sex Appeal". It is a very interesting study on what we do to attract the opposite sex without even knowing why we do these things.

The first part is below... you can follow part 2, part 3 etc from there.

Warning: The participants of this video do not adhere to conservative dress standards. So... watch at your own risk.

And yes, pretty girls attract men period. The thing with UPC girls is that the pretty ones rely on youth.... Once they get about 30+ they start looking like my grandma did at age 50. Even more pronounced if they have a half dozen kids under their belt by then.

Now RandyWayne,
Is that why some men make sure their next wife, don't have any kids, so
she won't look like your grandma did at age 50! What a put down to wives
that go through near death to bear children. What if no wife wanted to bear
children and no husband wanted his wife to look like his mother at 50. And
what if women didn't want to have children because she didn't want her hus-
band to think she looked like his grandma at age 50. What if your mother had
not wanted to have you for that same reason. And what if women didn't want
her husband to look like her grandpa at age 50!

My mother at 84 (the age she went Home) was beautiful. Gorgeous skin, Her
long silver hair was thick and beautiful. She was striking and guess what?
She bore 11 children, at home, without pain meds, etc. She never worked,
out of the home. Dad sheltered her and his children. What a man! He taught
us siblings the things that were important, like loving God, respecting parents,
elders, etc. Obey the law. honesty, integrity, godly principals, and a lot more.

Today, I believe, if I had the opportunity, I could stand before anyone and
proclaim the gospel of Jesus Christ and the difference HE makes in the lives
of mankind! Because of our late father instilling in us the importance of the
gospel and not just how we looked on the outside. The inside was very im-
portant. Dad was no slouch either, or mother. I respect their memory so much
today for taking the time and caring about us enough to teach us the things
that are most important.
I never heard my father put down my mother in any-
way. In fact in later years he would affectionally address her as his "Million Dollar
Lady". Publically from the pulpit. The people loved it, although she was a bit
embarrassed!

If all any of us have going for us, is the way we look, it's a sad day! No wonder
there are so many divorces with men making their wives feel inadequate. Those
that can make you feel inadequate, can control you. I don't get my confi-
dence or affirmation from man. It comes from GOD.

Men, if your faithful wife of many years, was taken from you, what would
you look for in another wife! Would you expect her to be under the same
terms you expected from the mother of your children, or would you be will-
ing to make exceptions. We all need to be loving, kind and merciful.

Not to offend, RW. I know I have said a lot but you really pushed my button.

Do you have source for the face changes when aroused thing? I find it kinda silly to say makeup comes from face shanges during sex. Like did the guys take note then tell ladies to start copying it with makeup?

Re: Adornment!!

Okay, I am going to comment on this thread! How did I get sucked into this?? LOL - Probably because I'm on a media fast from Facebook and Twitter and I need somewhere to go on the internet so I can fill my time at work ...please do not tell my boss!

I look at pictures of when I was UPC and I don't think I look bad. I tried to always look the best that I could with what I was "allowed" to do. I always had artificial nails with the french tip, my toe nails were always painted french tip, I didn't start wearing makeup until January of 2008 because it was preached against. I never colored my hair until I left the UPC and I always wore perfume!

I think it truly is a matter of the heart. Yes, we keep coming back to this, but you can make everything wrong and you can make everything right. It just depends on what side of the issue you want to be.

I would say UnitedPraise if you are still UPC and you are beginning to question the wearing of perfume, well then, there's another underlying issue there...if you are not UPC, well, thanks for bringing yet ANOTHER issue for us to debate and discuss!

Re: Adornment!!

Falla, I understand what your trying to say but what you think I was saying isn't what I was saying, unless of course it was in which case I'm not understanding what your saying in which case we can talk in circles and circles.......

This thread is about adornment which for all intents and purposes includes jewelry, makeup, perfume, and all those little ribbons and sparkles that women put in their hair. Also clothing and shoes, etc......

It is also about a religious organization that forces women to look old before their time (to which men are largely exempt from just about every rule). When someone is 30 they should be allowed to look 30, when 40 they should look 40, etc. They should not be forced to go from 20 to 50. It is not about wanting a trophy wife who always looks 18, and when she doesn't anymore, replace her. It's about being able to grow old with someone gracefully.

Re: Adornment!!

Come on RANDY... you know the women who don't cut their hair and don't wear makeup have THE GLOW. It must be the angels in the hair. RENDA confesses "I DIDN'T HAVE THE GLOW..." Well, she probably trimmed her split-ends with the fingernail clippers.
