In the homeland, she usually has to suppress the call that once burned brightly. All the while she may be asked to change diapers in the nursery or cook up a batch of peanut brittle for the current fundraiser. Or perhaps be asked to serve on the baking committee and wait on the tables at church dinners.
An interesting fact is did you know that that was a man’s job in the first church? “Then the twelve called the multitude of the disciples unto them, and said, it is not reason that we should leave the word of God, and serve tables. Wherefore, brethren, look ye out among you seven men of honest report, full of the Holy Ghost and wisdom, who we may appoint over this business” (Acts 6:2-3)
Yet, her call to further the Work of God still burns inside with no hint of release. And though God will use her voice, man will not allow her opportunity.
No one knows better than Satan what the death, burial, and resurrection means to the woman. Grace and truth came by Jesus Christ (John 1:17). Under grace sisters have a greater liberty to announce the gospel. Some have said a woman can only testify but not preach.
Paul said he testified the gospel! Acts 20:24, “But none of these things move me, neither count I my life dear unto myself, so that I might finish my course with joy, and the ministry, which I have received of the Lord Jesus, to testify the gospel of the grace of God. In humility before God and man, let me fulfill my calling to testify the Gospel.” So can we testify and not preach? Is the difference simply in the tone of voice? Is there a difference if a woman stands behind a pulpit or stands in a congregation?
If we use one Scripture to silence women, what is to be done with hundreds that open her mouth? Let me remind you of a few mouth-opening scriptures, “Let the redeemed of the Lord say so, Praise ye the Lord” PSA 107:2. “Make a joyful noise unto the Lord,” PSA 66:1. “Declare His doing among the people,” Isaiah 12:4 “Let everything that hath breath, praise ye the Lord” PSA 150:6. “Tell of all thy wondrous works” PSA 26:7 “…talk ye of all his wondrous works” 1CH 16:9. Let me run this race with joy, declaring His wondrous works among all people!

Wouldn’t Jesus Christ be a fraud if He would tell a woman to go and tell and then allow Paul to later close her mouth? I have staked my whole eternity on the fact that He is real and not a fraud. I do not believe that Paul closed her mouth. I believe that the present day structure has closed her mouth for the early church had no pulpits to preach behind.
Throughout the history of the church, women have been agents of change and makers of history. Am I trying to say that women are more important than men. A thousand times no. Those who know me well know I have long prayed for God to raise up strong men in Pentecost.
We try to measure ourselves among ourselves and for this we are not wise, the writer said in Second Corinthians 10:12. His sheep hear his voice, answer the call, walk in the spirit, and follow after charity.
We need a holy haste to go into the entire world. Most people have never watched a pagan die.
Our religious "cast" system has banished innocent souls from the presence of God.
Some people say, Sister Alvear, we believe I Cor. 14:34, 35 exactly like it reads, I wonder why they don’t believe Acts 4:34, 35; Acts 5:1 exactly like it reads? Acts 4:34-35, Neither was there any among them that lacked: for as many as were possessors of lands or houses sold them, and brought the prices of the things that were sold, and laid them down at the apostles feet: and distribution was made unto every man according as he had need. Acts 5:1, But a certain man named Ananias, with Saphira his wife, sold possession. Some one said they believed literally just as the Scripture was written well, I said it says except a man be born again of the water and spirit... does this exclude women? Of course not! The Bible contains a great variety of literary forms such as parables, fables, allegories, poetry, and symbolism. Few would take literally the words of Jesus, If your eye offend you, pluck it out - If your right hand offend you, cut it off (Matthew 5:29-30).
Strange how we read into the bible what we want it to say. We spiritualize what we don’t like, shy away from what we don’t understand.

Opened a thread, changing the topic of this one a hair: Do you believe in women Pastor's?
Many of you on this thread, side with Egalitarians, and you refute RDP's interpretation of 1 Tim and 1 Cor. However, I've also heard some of the same people say they either "don't believe" or "aren't comfortable" with women that pastor. What do you base that on?
In the beginning, Adam and Eve were naked, but they didn't know. After the
fall, they both wore fig leaves. But God clothed them in coats of animal skins.
I believe male and female were equal! GOD gave them different job descriptions.
Today, men and women both work and after the woman has her baby, she goes
back to work. When I was younger, women did not go as equals into the armed
forces. Now they both go into the armed services, if she has a baby, she's off
for a little while and then resumes her service. Meanwhile who's training up the
children. Training up is a full-time job.
In Christ there is neither male nor female. Is it right for her to work and be
out of the home while the man preaches. Does the woman work while the man
preaches. Maybe she could preach or teach while he works! Isn't she supposed
to be the weaker vessel!
Do you preach against women preachers, etc., while okaying the women in
your church to work outside the home. Who's training up the children. If she
works, she's probably not going to be quiet.
It just seems inconsistant for a minister to look to his wife to work, while he pursues
the ministry. Paul said that man first know how to take care of his own house, else
how can he take care of the Lord's house. That's how he learns to take care of the
house of the Lord. By taking care of his own house first. I believe that would include
taking care of his wife too. May require some sweat, but that's biblical too. By the
sweat of his brow.
God knows every situation but just some sincere thoughts I have had! Not to be
critical but to provoke thought. Personally I believe many things are out of order
today. When things are out of order, be it home, school, church, organiza tion,
government, things will eventually start backing up. And when the plumbing
begans to back up, it is best to deal with it. Don't put it off. It may be later
than we think!
Some say Paul said this and Paul said that! Paul said a lot of things and some of
what he said was in Titus 2. What do you, who are against women preachers say
about Paul's words here. Are you against these things too!
Titus 2 1-8
1 But speak thou the things which become sound doctrine:
2 That the aged men be sober, grave, temperate, sound in faith, in charity, in patience.
3 The aged women likewise, that they be in behaviour as becometh holiness, not false accusers, not given to much wine, teachers of good things;
4 That they may teach the young women to be sober, to love their husbands, to love their children,
5 To be discreet, chaste, keepers at home, good, obedient to their own husbands, that the word of God be not blasphemed.
6 Young men likewise exhort to be sober minded.
7 In all things shewing thyself a pattern of good works: in doctrine shewing uncorruptness, gravity, sincerity,
8 Sound speech, that cannot be condemned; that he that is of the contrary part may be ashamed, having no evil thing to say of you.
If we're going to harp on some of the things Paul said, why not harp on some
of the others or all of what Paul said. (There is such a thing as rightly dividing
the Word of God)!
Not to be critical or offensive! Just for discussion, etc.
Heavenly reward should be always in mind not the pat on the back from those who wish us well or the shaking of the head for those who feel we have missed our call...HIS voice must be first in our minds and in our hearts....and all decisions should be make in the light of eternity....

Amen, Sis. Alvear, when it's all said and done, it is GOD'S approval that will count!
Luke 6:26
Woe unto you, when all men shall speak well of you! for so did their fathers to the false prophets.
