I told Jeff I wanted to get risers for our bed and he looked at me like I had lost my mind. I love a tall bed. I don't know why--but I remember my Grandmother's beds being impossibly tall.
One of my aunts had a tall bed, when we would visit someone would have to pick me up and put me on it. I loved it though, she also had about a ton of homemade quilts. They didn't have heat back then, just fireplaces in two rooms. So they would warm the bed before we went to bed. And hot water bottles for our feet.
