Sipping warm tea it good too.
Years ago this happened to me and I continue to talk and sing and ended up in speech therapy for a few weeks. To protect my vocal chords, my body was smart enough to switch to using my false vocal chords and I had to go to speech therapy to retrain my voice to use my regular vocal chords.
So, from then on whenever this happens I do as they told me to back then, but I didn't listen - - I rest my vocal chords.
Rest your voice.

Well, I could say something really mean here. Something like, "Hey Sista, next time you lose your voice, do us a favor and, KEEP IT THAT WAY!" But I'm not a mean person. I'm sweet and kind and just adorable. And ...I love ya, Sis!
