You haven't explained why HE leaves the 99, to go and seek out the 1 last and lost sheep. This is very much a UR context, yet most fail to see it, and if brought to their attention they ignore it.

Re: The Slippery Emergent Slope
Crackjak, respectfully, this is the danger of going beyond what is written into the original meaning of the parable. Jesus was not preaching an eschatological view of universalism; he was instructing that the Father is no longer for the sheep who don't need salvation, the spiritually elite, but He goes out of His way to rescue even the one that seems unimportant.
The Good News, if ignored, rejected, and not welcomed, isn't a good ending, no matter how you believe that looks.
A great blog that's been discussing Universalism since the Rob Bell controversy sparked (everyone seems to be talking about it now):

I still believe in only one God, whose name is Jesus! And that we MUST REPENT, be baptized and recieve the very Spirit of God!

Re: The Slippery Emergent Slope
One is either saved or lost. There are only two eventualities. One is heaven, the other is hell. The imperative spoken by Jesus, "...ye must be born again..." is not without eternal implications. To be born again or not to be born again is a choice of eternal consequence.

Crakjak weighing in:
I fervently believe the love of God goes "beyond" the heart, mind and understanding of carnal men. His purpose is to redeem HIS creation, "...all in the earth, under the earth and above the earth..." He is God not some weak and temperamental despot.

What you post may be true, yet the true meaning of the words are not what you believe them to be.
