Lauren was surprisingly a snoozer, but some week's they just play it safe. A performance that won't send them home (because they built that reputation on other good performances) but neither will it advance their ranking.

And the producer that worked with Thia should be fired. That Casio Keyboard, 80's retro Karaoke track on the second half of her song were HORRID.

I agree about Lauren. She'll survive with no problem and she can save her great stuff for later. Her only crime was singing a boring song. And yeah, as soon as Thia went full-voice in the upper register.....ugh. To me, that wasn't her fault.

Singing and playing an instrument at the same time is a challenge. There are only a handful of people that can play and not have it take away from their singing. And the toughest instrument to play AND sing at the same time, is the bass. The rhythmic impulses are SO conflicting, it's just crazy...to me, anyway. And Casey literally seems as if his singing and playing are taking place in two different bodies. And he's only 19. I just can't even comprehend what he does.

Re: American Idol Season 10 ~ 2011

I will confess. I actually watched last night.

i did so because I wanted to get a feel for what was happening. I like to be up on pop culture.

I watched 2 episodes last season and I have to say this one has a much better vibe.

It was clear to me from reading a good bit of the press and watching just 2 episodes that last season they were pushing homosexuality and over the top sexuality in general, among other things that didnt sit well with me.

last night I didnt get any of that. It wasnt about sex. it was about really talented singers.

dont think i will watch anymore but I am at least happy this season doesnt have that vibe.

That's just bologna, Ferd. They had an in the closet, homosexual contestant. How were "they" "pushing homosexuality?" Sheesh.

I know what he's saying - - remember Katy Perr's stunt when she sang on AI......I think they shouldn't have allowed her to do that - it was unfair to the other contestants.

Not about my feelings. About you homophobe Texans that overreact at the slightest hint of a gay man!

She was a guest judge. Refresh my memory on that...

LOL! bro, it aint about gay. it’s about pushing the sexuality. both straight and gay that seemed to permeate the show last season.

No, she preformed and right after she came out, she opened up her cape and it had Adam's name printed on it.

I actually really like J. Lopez and Steven Tyler as judges. J.Lo has very constructive comments. And Steven Tyler, well - he seems like a nice guy.
