Also, doctrinal issues are a bit different, because they're usually directed at one person--the person who is teaching/preaching the doctrine. Unless someone is attacking that person's character (and they shouldn't be), the debate is rather limited. Dialogue with peers and elders is the only way to resolve the issue. In the case of moral failures, we should be trying to restore that person to their relationship with God, and we should be mindful of the hurt their families are experiencing.

Repaying evil for evil is the easy way out. It can even be the fun and entertaining thing to do. It's not the Christian thing to do. When I see people who take great delight in dragging other Christians through mud and trying to make them look bad, I think to myself that they aren't like Christ. Even if those people being dragged through the mud deserve it, and aren't in any way like Christ either.

Truth be told, we all deserve mud-dragging, don't we? (And I think I'll retire that metaphor now.)

And Appy, I've seen you take some pretty serious swipes at those in ministry. Do you feel at liberty to do that because they're doctrinally different than you, which leads me to ask, would you consider me or an AG pastor, or a Baptist pastor or any non-pentecostal minister to be one of those who should not be "touched" or exempt from "harm"?

As a minister, as a believer, I do not ever want to think that I am leading people to believe I am better or of a higher quality than anyone else. If anything, I covet the prayers of the saints, so that I may walk worthy of the calling, and that my feet step no more to the right or left. I want to be right, and know that when I step into the pulpit, I am under greater condemnation for what I preach.

So, when preachers get big headed and think they are better, pray hard and fast for them that God would humble them under the power of His Holy Spirit. But, let us hold up the warriors in the pulpits, whether they be fiberglass, wood, or street corner, and pray God's grace, mercy, and anointing to keep them in all their ways.

I don't understand the problem with bringing things out in public, especially the moral failings of a church leader.

Because of their position more close to God, they see things from a different perspective.
