Re: American Idol Season 10 ~ 2011
I knew she would get signed and told my wife that the night she was voted off. It is funny but oftentimes it seems those that do not win end up having the best careers. Of course Carrie Underwood and Kelly Clarkson are the exceptions.

Re: American Idol Season 10 ~ 2011
At this point, I don't really know what to say. I can't really nit-pick their voices because I think they are all incredibly talented and love all their voices. It's going to come down to performance & self-confidence.
Paul: He did a great job with the song, and performed well. The only thing I can nit-pick about it that he didn't really do anything original to him with the song. It seemed like just a regular rendition of Bob Seger.
Lauren: She did a great job. Outsang Hannah Montana for sure. Beautiful!
Stefano: Amazing! His voice has really been refined through this and he sounded stronger than ever.
Scotty: He did a good job sticking to his country roots. He sounded good. Unfortunately, I always seem to tune him out. Is it because he's fairly boring? Or that I just don't dig country?
Casey: What can you say about Casey? Casey did what Casey does. Brilliant! Here's the artist I've been missing. I almost feel like he was trying too hard in the past and has now come back to his roots and relaxed in who he is. While he's not my cup of tea, he did an excellent job! (Although he really needs to chill with the emotions! LOL!)
Haley: Was worried about her song choice, and that it would just be a karaoke version. She did a fairly good job making it her own, except that it came too late in the song. She really needed to put her 'Haley' in it from the beginning. Hope it wasn't too little, too late.
Jacob: Holy Smokes! Have never cared for that song till now! That was amazing!!! Loved it! As J-Lo said, 'it comes from another place.' And she's right.
James: I just can't be critical. I'm too biased. He's my fav and I loved it!
My prediction for bottom 3: Paul, Haley and Scotty. Going home: Paul.

I wonder what would happen if AI was not on TV but radio and all you had were their voices?

I agree with your prediction of the bottom three. I thought they all did good. As usual Paul was my least favorite.
I normally am not impressed with Stefano but I thought it was probably his best performance to date.
Last week I thought Scotty showed a versatility beyond his one trick (the low country growl) but this week he seemed back to normal. Very good but I don't think American Idol winner good.
Casey is amazing. It will be interesting to see how far he goes. IF he can give controlled performances like last night I think very far. Did anybody notice how badly he hit the very last note of the song after singing the rest of it brilliantly?

Unfortunately in singing live, seeing the performers is part of the act. But if we are to judge based on singing ability the only fair way is to not see them. I think many people vote for someone because they just like that person. They are cuter or something

Re: American Idol Season 10 ~ 2011
Had to crack up with the group singing at the show opening. Pia had a tiny little solo, and sounded so out of place! Hahaha!
Scotty: Too repititous. Annoyed by how he holds that stoopid mic. I was bored and tuned out. But that's nothing new, I usually tune him out.
James: Brought my daughter out of her room to come listen. LOL! Holy smokes! Dude's got pipes! Hubby says, 'I would buy that album!' Almost rated up there with Adam Lambert's performance of 'Mad World' for me. Almost!
Haley: Interesting song choice because I've heard it on the radio before and it made me think of her. She did a great job, balancing her growl and letting us hear her great, distinct sound.
Jacob: I normally like Jacob's voice, but this was just plain ole boring. I agree with Randy, we are expecting spectacular at this point, and that was a let-down.
Casey: Rough. He wasn't even hitting the notes. Expected better from him. I don't think this song showcased his style well. But who am I? Everybody else seemed to love it. LOL! I think his Casey-isms were over-done and he got a bit cocky, not being mindful of the voice, but the performing.
Stefano: Like his voice, he gave us a pretty good performance. I think the only thing he's really lacking at this point is having a style all his own. What's his niche?
Lauren: Just a safe performance. If she will let go like the judges are asking her to do, she could blow the lid off the place. She reminds me so much of Carrie Underwood in the fact that Carrie stayed in the middle of the pack for most of the competition, then suddenly blossomed when it came down to it. Lauren has been the slow & steady singer thru all this. So far we've been weeding out the bad singers and now we're down to the best. I think she's going to shine from here on out.
Prediction for bottom 3: Scotty, Stefano, Jacob. Going home...who else? Stefano? Again?

I would totally agree with your assessment, Mrs.
Paul has never been my favorite, wayyyy too bland, and I HATE that I can't understand half of what he's singing! He doesn't enunciate, doesn't finish words, and sings everything Rod Stewart style, but a bad karaoke Rod Stewart.
Jacob is getting old to me, Haley is ok, but not blowing the roof off, Lauren is starting to go the other way, in my opinion...she started off confident, powerful, unafraid....and now, she's climbing INTO a shell, instead of out of one.
Stefano has a very PURE voice, but seems to be putting on a show, not really feeling it.
I love Casey, he has a long and storied career ahead of him, simply because of his versatility, but I would tend to agree....he is a little too goofy at times.
The one true performer, who refuses to be changed, even by the professionals, is James......I think he'll win it all, he's already got it inside and out, in my opinion.
My prediction for bottom three: Stefano, Jacob and Scotty, going home will be Jacob, I think.

I think I read Chris Daughtry has made more money than any Idol contestant ever.
He was voted off with 5 or 6 left a few years back.
