Re: Wedding rings

For people coming in from the outside and were just supposed to make sense of all this stuff, it was impossible, because it's ultimately cultural and doesn't make sense.

One Ring to rule them all, One Ring to find them,
One Ring to bring them all and in the darkness bind them
In the Land of Mordor where the Shadows lie.

Kids church? what do you mean.. like bright pink? or plaid?

To say colors are adornment is stretchy in my opinion. Do you wear all black clothes?

As far as girls go - I didn't buy my wife a ring because her dad had frowned so seriously on the idea. He even stated that he would refuse to do a wedding ceremony that involved a ring in any way. About a week or two after we were married my wife was digging around and found my grandmother's wedding band and claimed it for herself. She said she was tired of all the "hassles" at work and other places. Nice. I felt like a worm.
I know eveyone experience is different, we just haven't had much issue with it and I work with mostly women.

Bright colors are happy colors! So are floral patterns and light, airy fabrics. I love to put on pretty things made of pretty fabrics that feel good to my skin.

I get so annoyed at over-analysis of stuff like this, because it usually isn't a very complicated process. When I see a pretty dress or blouse, I DON'T [ever??!!] think, "Wow, I can catch a bunch of guys' attention in THAT!" I usually think, "Wow, that's beautiful", and then I touch it to see how it feels, and I think something like, "That has a nice, quality weight to it", or "Nah, that's too scratchy."

It's not nearly so underhanded as men imagine. Of course, male narcissists everywhere tend to think that every choice a woman makes is made with them in mind. If they only knew....

Hey little girl with a red dress on
There's a party tonight down in Memphis town
I'll be going down there if you need a ride
The man on the radio says Elvis Presley's died....

Re: Wedding rings

Ah, but, Scott, those bright colors on the flowers invite the burning stingers of the bees or the probing beaks of the hummingbirds.
