PO - - world of difference in the "sound" of that speech!!!

It has nothing to do with WHO made them - - it's the message you get from them.

RG, I agree that I would not have given the speech in that way, but in all fairness these are two drastically different scenarios. One is the purported end of an entire war consisting of numerous battles and maneuvers over the period of months. The other is basically a narrative of what happened in basically one story involving no more than a handful of people largely in the space of a day. The roles he is highlighting are the direct roles he played. I would not have chosen to highlight my role as much, but you have to believe that it was calculated.

I guess I'm saying that in the case of a first person narrative, some "I"s are necessary. In this case, I think they may have gone about two too many. In short, in my opinion, they calculated wrong but I guess time will tell.

This tip that lead to bin laden's demise originated under Obama. How many years has he been in office already? how many years has Pannetta been where he is-- and was he there before?

He acted upon the intel given to him, garnered by the people that enacted his cabinet's policies, with wisdom and courage.
Leon Pannetta should get credit because of his position.
Of course, thouse who carried out the plan should get the most credit.

But to say that GWB and Obama deserve the same level of credit on this is the same as saying the GWB and Obama deserve the same level of blame for Abu Gharib.

Different Presidents.
Different Cabinets.
Different Times.
Different Strategies.

Yep! Mr Pannetta was so good he's being moved on to something else.

Let me see if I understand this. All the intel that they used has been totally discovered since Obama came into office. Nothing was gathered during any of the time Bush was in office?

Did they gather any info from the prisoners in Gitmo? Who put the prisoners in Gitmo? If Obama had had his way there wouldn't be any prisoners in Gitmo to gather info from.

Go ahead and drink your lemonade, JD. And support your man! (I know you're supposedly Republican...but who could tell?)

Ah not so fast, i just heard from someone in the military who had intimate knowledge of the situation and they couldnt get permission to shoot and waited and waited, until they just went ahead and did it anyway ,of course now he takes credit.

That really doesn't sound credible, canam. And you have friends in the CIA/Special Forces?

I guess I don't understand why we must argue whether Obama's speech was politically correct when a leader of terrorism is out of the picture. Its hurts so many liberals to give credit to anyone but Obama and it hurts all the Cons to give any credit to him at all.
