1 Corinthians chapter 12, Ephesians chapter 4 and Romans chapter 12 speak of "gifts' that God has given to humans and to the church. I don't know if those are exclusive lists or not. Romans 12:3 says we are to think rationally about ourselves. I think this means we should not think too highly of ourselves but neither should we put ourselves down.
Just out of curiosity, what gifts do you think God has given you?
I think my gifts are intercession, serving, teaching, and giving.
I think I am an intercessor, servant, teacher, and giver.

My gift is song. I sing, although the last two years I have let that gift sit on a shelf because of an ongoing Divorce. I also cannot sing in the church where I go, due to not paying of tithes, but I do worship God from where I sit. I think it is the only Gift that God gave me. Or do you consider singing a Talent? Either way, God blessed me with a good strong voice, and I try to sing whenever, where ever I can.

You can't sing because you don't tithe? What kind of bull is that? I can't wrap my brain around why people go to churches that treat their "members" (oh wait, you're probably not a member either for the same reason) like this.

My gift is small group ministry (a lot of the fivefold ministry manifests in these settings).
I used to sing with the praise team and really enjoyed it, but it's really not my "gift". lol My pastor let me sing though I couldn't tithe. That is odd....

Each church as their own rules and guidelines. I have been brought up in UPC churches and with "most", this is one of their guideline of being on the platform for any reason or in leadership. Even though I don't agree with it, I do honor the wishes of leadership and I don't make waves. I am assuming that I am not a member of the church were I go. There is not a membership roll. I am on the address list and I am a part of the Family Fellowship Group in my area. From my understanding, you have to be a tithe payer to be a member.

Well thank God you are a member in the body of CHRIST!

So, honestly, why do you attend a church that places so little value on you?
I'm not questioning their rules, they're welcome to have whatever rules their membership base (or attendance base) allows them to get away with enforcing. I'm asking why people put up with this. It doesn't make sense to me. If you're good enough for God, why aren't you good enough for them? Or, do you believe you're not quite good enough for God because you're not good enough for them?

Since I am not wanting to Hijack this thread, I will not comment any more on rules, membership, ect.. If you want, we can start another thread and get people to comment on that one. Saying all of that....I sing! That is my gift/talent!
I thank God that He's trusted me to be a blessing to the body of Christ. I serve through preaching, singing, administration, 5 fold giftings
and other things like
helps, giving, faith...etc.
Again, feels awkward to list them.
Let's say, I've done nearly everything in the church from Pastor it to clean it.
