Maybe a little off topic (unlike the temperature in Texas, or ED ), but do you think miracles are important to the spread of the gospel? Is that their very purpose, perhaps?

It does seem that way to me. Certainly in the gospels they attracted attention and ultimately convinced people to hear the good news.

Exactly right. I wonder if there were skeptics back in the days of Jesus and his disciples?

Yes, there were. For example, none of the disciples believed the reports that Jesus rose from the dead, until they saw Jesus in person. (It wasn't just Thomas!)

I haven't posted here in a long time, but I still "lurk " from time to time.

This story has been really bothering me for some reason...I feel the need to comment.

Like others that work in the healthcare field, I find it unbelievable that CPR was not performed. (if in fact it wasn't) If there truly were doctors and nurses present, and they were unable to obtain a pulse or detect respirations, then surely they would have started CPR. That is why I cannot believe this story. It just doesn't add up.

Brother Jeff Arnold was recently preaching, and according to doctors and many witnesses he died while preaching about miracles. This video was recorded on July 31 after brother Arnold died on July 28.

Re: Miracle at Impact Conference

Well...I attend this church and have seen many miracles happen....they have no reason to make anything up just to get attention.I just moved back and and didnt get a chance to attend Impact. From all I have talked to they COULD NOT find a central pulse...and also right before he went out for the second time he vomited...now I'm not the most experienced EMT but I know that sometimes vomiting accompanies heart issues.I also know that chest massage or compressions were being done...3 RN's and a military medic...not sure about the doc...there are some that visit and some that have attended so I cant say if they were there.Look these are people I KNOW...and I'm a pretty cynical person...if I even got a WHIFF of fakery I'd be suspicious...but this is the same church where God healed pastor Carney of two broken arms in a prayer meeting before Sunday night service several years back...I was there I saw it for myself and in the same night a man wearing a leg cast was running the aisles waving the cast...these are Godly people I know and love and I would put their character up against anyone. It worries we that sometimes our knee jerk reaction is to try to dilute or discount things like this that happen...yes I know there are fakes and frauds out there...but have we gotten to the place to where we are so spiritually spoiled that when God serves something like this on our plate we pick around it refusing to eat cause its not to our liking? Its like God "cooks" us a masterpiece of a dish and we turn up our noses. It grieves my heart...because I have friends that go to churches that say that they are taught that miracles dont happen like this anymore...and they are soooo hungry...they are STARVING for a genuine demonstration of the Spirit and would GLADLY take just the leftovers off of our plate...because you see we have God all figured out...we've seen it all...we sit in judgement and decide what is legit and what isnt...just like the Pharisees of Jesus's time...I had a great grandmother drop dead in church foyer during a choir practice...my mother found her...she was dead...she had gone to the bathroom and didnt return for some time so my mom went to check on her and found her in the floor...cold....blue...they checked her vitals*interesting fact is that one of the RN's from Impact...it was her mother who is ALSO a RN that checked the vitals of my great grandmother when she died a year before I was born*....they prayed and she came back to life speaking in tongues.Ya'll I was BORN crippled and God healed me at my baby dedication.Maybe we dont see those types of miracles much because we are so well fed and spiritually fat that we have just lost our hunger...I hope not.

Re: Miracle at Impact Conference

Hey Jedi,

Thanks for chiming in with the info, I really appreciate that.

Personally, I never considered that it might be a staged or fake event - far from it I'm sure.

You do give some new information too. Vomitus is very often present during CPR.
