That usually has to do with the ignorance of individuals; not the activity in general. I know of a 17 year old boy who drowned swimming in a ditch with his brother because he got hung up on some debris--that doesn't mean that "God isn't exactly pleased" with swimming.
My only objection to "owling" is that it looks like people are squatting down for a different reason.
If you plank in a safe place, by all means go for it.
If you plank in a dangerous place and risk death just to impress your internet friends... well....
So are you ready to try this stuff? Seriously, it's big - especially among teens. I have actually seen the planking thing at church, but no Owling yet.
PS If you have to ask why do this stuff you missed the point entirely.
LOL...from the looks of the Owling photos...I do this at least once or twice a day in the privacy of my own bathroom...
FYI...I have seen photos of teens planking on police cars...and I've read articles of them going to jail for defacing public property...but otherwise...it seems harmless...the owling killed me though...my wife saw it and said look...Cadan (our 6 year old) is owling right now...and he didn't even know it...he's at the table playing Uno and was perched right on the edge of the bench...and he ain't even a teenager yet....

Yup. When I traveled in the former Soviet Union most of their "toilets" were nothing more than a concrete floor with a hole. Owling was SOP! LOL!

Also the type of toilet found in Japan. I wasn't forewarned.........it was a bit of a shock to open the restroom door and________there was a toilet seat, but it was 3" off the floor .
Most of the hotels and restaurants had Western style toilets .
