Well, maybe you're right. Since she was being bad, I guess all bets are off. Doesn't he know that it would be more effective to just punch her in the face? That would teach her good. And if that doesn't do it - maybe a baseball bat? I'm just brainstorming here.

Her parent felt the proper punishment was a spnking with a belt. She didn't comply and bend over to take it, so she got hit all over. I remember gettign the same warnign when I was a kid. Bend over and hold still, if not it's your own fault where you get whacked. I remember getting cracked on my nuckles when I tried to cover my behind.
What a sad society we are in when people can't stomach a child getting a spanking anymore.
I honestly think taking away a 16 year old girls phone privileges, and making her stay in her room without a phone and computer for a few nights would be more effective then hitting her.

For all we know, they had exhausted other means and were left with busting her behind. Sorry folks, but this is a parent choosing to spank a rebellious child, a "child" BTW that goes on to attempt to blackmail said parents.
I also think that spanking should be used on younger children, done in a proper manner of course. But that once a young lady or young man is in their teens, they are too old to be spanked. I believe that it's better to take away privileges. Parents don’t always know what they are doing just because they are parents.

There you go. Although I don't think any child, no matter the age should be hit with an object, like a belt or paddle. I know of a preacher years ago that said he used a belt to "correct" his wife, seriously and thought nothing of it.

The level of pain is not really the issue, the parents were wrong, totally wrong in the way and the attitude of the punishment. The abuse is a totally different issue, the man is an abuser, the woman participated lest it be turned on her, guarantee she has been on the receiving end. Parents can never turn their anger on a child, and be right.
This girl has been abused, this was nothing new for her.
