Sam I have spent time with such a preacher. In fact I’m my early 20's while on AIM in South America, I spent a month in Curacao teaching his church some of our doctrine. They were Trinitarians and the pastor came to an understanding of Oneness.
That too was a process. If I were to come in contact with a guy like you describe I would spend a good deal of time talking to him.
I’ve lived just long enough to know that epiphanies are rare and the purview of the novice. Almost always for people who have been around for any amount of time, the moment of change occurs after a period of reflection.... often a period that is long and internally torturous.
