How about a little boy who, in disobedience, walks too close to the edge of a cliff, falls and dies? Will that sin keep him out of heaven?

God's judgement on sinful and wicked nations and people in this earth demonstrate that some wrongs cause him to punish more harshly than others. If there was no difference at all in sins then God would punish them all to the same magnitude in this life as well as in the life to come.
