The little mermaid has a plot that promotes rebellion and sin? Parts are almost alegorical with Christianity whether intended or not.
1. Girl rebels and gets herself into trouble that can't be undone (Adam and Eve's Fall).
2. The girls Father offers to exchange himself in place of her. (Jesus taking our punishment in our place).
3. The witches spell gets reversed and both her Father and her are free. (The resurrection of Jesus).
4. The girl now gets to live a new and changed life as a human instead of as a mermaid. (The new man that the Holy Spirit lets us become or perhaps its a picture of heaven).
...I guess The Little Mermaid really teaches alot of bad stuff afterall. Kind of like how the bible teaches rebelling from God is okay since God ultimately makes a way to save us from our mistakes and we still ultimately get what we want, heaven
