Well pornography comes from the Greek word "porneia". Thats where our English word "fornication" comes from. How did Paul confront fornication among Christians? Did he say "just keep working on it tho it may take years to overcome"?
Here is his own wisdom to those in fornication:
8 Neither let us commit fornication , as some of them committed , and fell in one day three and twenty thousand. 9 Neither let us tempt Christ, as some of them also tempted , and were destroyed of serpents. 10 Neither murmur ye , as some of them also murmured , and were destroyed of the destroyer. 11 Now all these things happened unto them for examples: and they are written for our admonition, upon whom the ends of the world are come .
1 Cor. 10:8-11
Paul lets them know YHWH killed 23000 of his own people IN ONE DAY because of fornication! Thousands of his own people fell into this sin and Christ destroyed them for it. This was written FOR AN EXAMPLE TO US.
Paul did not exhort us to go seek a mental health Practicioner to help you. He did not say "now be REAL gentle about this you dont want to hurt someones itsy bitsy feelings".
Instead he warns Christ may DESTROY THEM in one day!
Friends if you believe the Apostle spoke the wisdom of God FLEE FORNICATION NOW.
We have an advocate with the Father even Jesus. If we cry out now, if we would judge ourselves we would not be judged.
If we believe the lie you have a long time to overcome we may wind up with a premature death or even worse cut off from Gods grace.
