My husband wanted me to post this for him:
Most people today who get the Holy Ghost are gentiles. Gentiles have gotten the Holy Ghost under ACTS 10:43.
Acts 10:43-44 says:
43 To him give all the prophets witness, that through his name whosoever believeth in him shall receive remission of sins.
44 While Peter yet spake these words, the Holy Ghost fell on all them which heard the word.
From
Acts 2:38 to
Acts 10:43, you will read that remission of sins was connected to water baptism in Jesus Name. From
Acts 10:43 and
Acts 10:44, you will see that the people received the Holy Ghost without water baptism in Jesus Name. Remission of sins is not just confined to water baptism in Jesus Name, although I believe that Jesus Name baptism is the correct way to be baptized.
There is no such thing as “getting the Holy Ghost on credit”. Notice verse 48 after the Holy Ghost fell:
48 And he commanded them to be baptized in the name of the Lord. Then prayed they him to tarry certain days.
Nobody receives the Holy Ghost unless they are obedient to God . Consider
Acts 5:32.
Acts 10:43 is just as valid as
Acts 2:38.
Acts 2:38 applies to the Jews and Samaritans while 10:43 applies to the Gentiles.
Of course I told him to expect naysayer responses on his belief from this forum. My husband is of oneness belief, BUT, he has opportunity to visit with many people who have a genuine experience with the Holy Ghost and have yet to embrace the baptism in Jesus Name. One thing we have learned in all our years of marriage and loving God is to never take anything away from someone's spiritual life. You build upon what they already know and leave the rest up to God. If one never fellowships outside the oneness crowd, you will never reach many people that could be reached by a kind word, a smile, a discussion.
