Ahhhh, but should the church be in any sort of unity with the World? Isn't the whole goal to look completely different, and yet completely the same within their own community?

I didn't say unity with the world. Just unity. However, they were in unity with each other to accomplish a goal to feed the world.

The people in the upper room was in unity (one accord) with each other and there appeared unto them cloven tongues like as of fire, and it sat upon each of them.

Just think what total unity in Christ's church would accomplish for God?

Please do. I used to live with a roommate who had a deaf ministry. She used to show me some of the sign language techniques in an attempt for me to communicate a little with the deaf in the church I was attending at the time. I may be mistaken, but it seems like this motion was to bring the sign up to the left shoulder across the heart and point to the person you love. That would be hard to show in a picture. It's been 30 years since then though....wheew! Time flies.

I do know that there are sometimes different ways of using sign language. My Mom asked a lady about why she expressed the sign for the phrase 'praise the Lord' one way while another did it another way. She was told that there are different ways, and that sometimes the debate 'proper' way to saying it. It could be the same way with this.
