Re: father/daughter purity ring/necklace?

My perspective is a little different but maybe still valuable.

My son dated a girl when he was 20-21 and she was 18-19 for over a year. She wore a purity ring given to her by her father. She was very clear what that meant to her and that she would only remove it for her wedding ring. Although they did not marry my son says that he believes that it helped both of them remember her vow to her father, her God and her future husband and when they broke it off they remained good friends. She married 2 years ago and her daddy slipped her ring off just before he walked her down the aisle. My son was a groomsman and we were in the audience. It was a beautiful wedding.

Are you sure that the one clip is going to be enough?

I like purity rings. A lot of teens think that they're overrated and don't mean much anymore, but I disagree.

A purity ring is nothing more than an excuse to wear another piece of jewelry. It is the wedding ring for children.

I was raised to avoid sinful situations. I did not need a 'purity ring' to remind me to keep myself to myself. Further, I have not heard that they actually make one bit of difference in keeping young people pure.

well, we know a ring itself can't keep one pure.

I personally don't wear no rings not even a wrist ring that has a clock on it.

Well, I have heard of some who have moved to that position, and I whole-heartedly endorse their right to feel that way. (Much of the day I tend not to wear mine either.)

I disapprove of those watches that have gemstones (artificial or authentic), or that will draw an over abundance of attention to one's person. I wear a nice simple watch (includes a pedometer) and I never have to worry about it 'making a statement'. In that regard only, do I view watches as worth wearing.

A golden nose ring and a couple bracelets like was given to Rebecca otta do the trick just the same...., go on to explain what it represents (?)
Then just walk her down the aisle, take the nose ring out, and let the husband put the new one in!

Re: father/daughter purity ring/necklace?

When we had calves that wanted to continue nursing past 4-6 months we would put a ring in their nose that had little spikes on top... they would go to nurse and - BAM!

Let it be known I wholeheartedly disapprove of humans wearing these anti-nursing rings.

I'm agin it!

That's awesome.
