I've read remarks by a whole lot of liberals that are disappointed in Obama's presidency, (Oprah not campaigning for him again - even Obama's lapdog, Matt Damon, is disappointed ) so, I think that some Democrats would vote against him.

I wouldn't hold out hope for that. Santorum has effectively shown liberals and independents how extreme right-wing policy can be. As much as some liberals/independents might be disappointed with President Obama, Santorum has soured them on voting Republican this election cycle.
