But that could pose problems. Most Muslims would never accept an Al-Mahdi like that. Also, he'd only be able to convince liberals to buy into his agenda. However, if he were a fundamentalist Muslim and presented himself as a convincing candidate for being the Al-Mahdi by fulfilling an Islamic prophecy... nearly a billion people could be persuaded to follow him overnight. They'd see him as a man of peace... even if he brings it with a sword in the name of Allah.
