I have personally decided that I cannot continue to have these conversations with anybody who insists on making this about Sharpton and his ilk. Sharpton was thousands of miles away at the time of this real-life incident, and the people I am interested in are Martin, Zimmerman, and the police. I honestly don't think many of you realize how much you allow the other things to keep you from being objective.
Honestly consider this: What if the racial roles were reversed, all particulars remained the same, and Zimmerman was a black man who had followed and killed a boy of another race after making the same phone call and having the same history. If Sharpton and his ilk had come out demanding that he be released, I have absolutely no doubt that many of the same people would be passionately arguing the opposite side of the issue. Take a step back, consider, and be honest with yourself.
Sometimes the net result of race baiting is that people of the opposite race are taking the bait without even realizing it. In the above scenario, my opinion of what I heard on the 911 call would not have changed one iota and I would not have been swayed one way or another in this case.
