Re: You know...

I'd say that his posts demonstrated quite a bit of Scriptural ignorance, lol--or, just enough to be dangerous?

I was horrible, relatively at least, when I first got online, lol.
Assumed superiority is a part of human nature? Sometimes?
In the insecure or whatever. I saw it as a codependent reaction.
Interesting thoughts!

"We did not wear uniforms. The lady workers dressed in the current fashions of the day, ...silks...satins...jewels or whatever they happened to possess. They were very smartly turned out, so that they made an impressive appearance on the streets where a large part of our work was conducted in the early years.

"It was not until long after, when former Holiness preachers had become part of us, that strict plainness of dress began to be taught.

"Although Entire Sanctification was preached at the beginning of the Movement, it was from a Wesleyan viewpoint, and had in it very little of the later Holiness Movement characteristics. Nothing was ever said about apparel, for everyone was so taken up with the Lord that mode of dress seemingly never occurred to any of us."

Would you say that he believes scriptures mean something different from what they say?

Yes, I believe that he had just enough knowledge and understanding of the Scripture to be dangerous to himself and others.

Fascinating indeed (on more levels than I shall engage myself discoursing).

Timmy, there is no need to be so circumspect about the incomprehensible delusions of an insignificant, irrelevant, and impotent myopic internet troglodyte endeavoring to perpetuate disruption and sabotage upon our particular playful paradise. I shall now become the inoffensive character that everyone knows and loves.

Chaos abhors order.

Ha, what Jay said mostly, and I'd say that it is his premises that were skewed--obvious lack of Grace/Love.
