The pastor could be licensed UPC and the church not be affiliated . . . but not the other way around.
Not that I'm aware of at least.

If a preacher is licensed in the UPC, that preacher MUST attend a UPC church. This may create some dilemnas for some UC churches if they pull out and the closest UPC assembly has different teachings.....

I don't know him. I only know what I've heard. What I've heard was more than likely biased. I do hear that he is ambitious. There's nothing wrong with that. I also hear that he doesn't like to answer to anyone. I don't think that is a good quality in a leader.
I know a gal who attends or used to attend the church. She gave raving reviews. I'd believe her if she said the sky was falling...

I have a problem with ambition. We should strive for anointing and let the doors open by God's hand, not by forcing our agenda through ambition and self-promotion. I would rather see a man elected and accepting a position somewhat reluctanly but willingly than to have a man pushing for the post.

Are there stipulations are how much this local minister must attend ... how often ... once a week ... once a month ....once a year ...??? I've heard of a scenario where a minister could technically be "based" at a church but be involved in a non-org church.
