but let's not get this discussion off track by talking about baptism.
I did not know Kenneth Reeves but it sounds like he was a good man, anointed and used in the gifts plus a good teacher.

Re: Looking for info on Kenneth Reeves
Lord and Christ are titles not names, and seeing as how both properly belong to Jesus, I see no problems baptizing someone 'in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ'. The other explanation sounds ridiculous to me.

These same people are probably also the ones who require that baptisms be done in "moving water", aka, a river, lest the sins not be washed away.
The thought of denying salvation due to a technicality seems kind of silly doesn't it. LOL

Baptism in Jesus' name is not a mere technicality, but attempting to create a specific phrase using the name to declare over people in baptism is a bit much as is the issue with running water.

Be careful what you seek after. It costs a great deal to be close.

I am well aware. I won't go into what all I have been through, but I know God uses broken things (bread, the Lord's body, etc.).

These discussions have been going on for years on this site.
There is a scripture that fits these people perfectly....
(II Ti 3:7) Ever learning, and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth.

well, some folks think that if titles like Lord or Christ are OK then other titles like Father or Son or Holy Ghost are OK

Consider how long Joseph and David suffered.

Sam do you remember Coonskinner quoting this same scripture to you a couple of years ago?
