For me... there is separation of church and state. It's legal to do many many things that are an abomination to God in a free country. Freedom is holy even when sinful men choose the freedom to sin. If you want to buy porn, drink the night away, dance, wear mini-skirts and tease boys all night long, go to a stip joint, etc... it's a free country.
However, I do not think such things should be named among Christians. We should celebrate the great freedom of our country by obeying Jesus and seeking to be like Him. We should celebrate this great freedom to share the gospel. We should encourage those seeking spiritual relief and salvation to seek Christ.
I have a gay uncle and a couple gay women live down the street from me. My uncle is often the "life of the party" at family get togethers. He is hilarious sometimes. But it's a smoke screen to hide the pain he has inside. My neighbors, they were living together long before I moved in. And guess what... they've actually been decent neighbors. They've informed me when they thought they saw something strange in the neighborhood or around my house. They are decent enough people. They're living together (married or unmarried) doesn't affect me. I still would counsel them to seek Christ and His character not their current lifestyle. I'd refrain from venomous judgment because I have my own issues in my life right now wherein I need to become more Christlike.
Now, in today's America most state have no fault divorce laws. These are really putting a beating on marriages. We allow people to remarry regardless of what grounds they divorced under. We don't ask the government not to marry adulterous couples who were divorced on grounds that would prevent remarriage according to Christ's interpretation of the law (which is another subject altogether). My wife left me a couple years ago. I've already been told that I'm not allowed to remarry. I don't want the state to enforce their interpretation of Scripture and force me to live by it. If I want to remarry I should be able to. Besides, there are other intepretations of what Jesus was saying out there that would allow me to remarry.

Newsflash... Jesus is the core of individual morals. This nation has never had "morals". This nation actually allowed the most brutal form of slavery since ancient Rome. This nation is a constitutional republic that values freedom. It has it's sins. It has it's social evils. It isn't perfect, never has been, and never will be. The only thing that truly blesses our nation is... freedom. Everyone has a right to live and worship according to their conscience in America. In that... we are blessed beyond any nation on earth. However, liberty has allowed the free flow of the Gospel. In this... we rejoice. And as far as I'm concerned... if a gay American can't trust Christians to preserve his secular freedom to live as he/she chooses, read what he or she likes, speak what he or she likes, and worship as he or she likes... who can they trust? Socialists? Communists? Give me a break. I served 8 years military to preserve freedom. Yes... even freedom for those that I STRONGLY disagree with.
The reason why so many Christians want to use the GOVERNMENT to police people's lives is because they have fundamentally given up all faith in the power of the Gospel.
I don't know if it has already been discussed but I am greatly concerned with the traditional definition of marriage being changed. Not just from the aspect of the homosexual agenda being pushed.
If marriage is redefined then the bar drops for all. Polygamy will again become an issue and will be from a religious viewpoint. Don't forget, for the LDS church polygamy is still a command from their prophet. this is a huge issue here in the Utah, Idaho, and surrounding areas.

well polygamy is not defined in the bible to be honest. it just speaks of specific offices in church should just have one wife. However it never truely ruled it out. God in the old testament never had a issue with it. However to me one wife is enough.. but again biblically there really isnt nothing against it.

When people enter a rain forest, wiping out the natural habitat of wildlife, the repercussions of this will be staggering. Imagine a family of primates, birds, or even insects, and suddenly your entire "Structure" is gone. Young are killed, mates are destroyed, and the "Home" has been burned down. Do this to Humans and watch what happens, such as what took place with Hiroshima and Nagasaki. The radioactive consequences of this event are still with us today, and the future will unfold the true carnage of such devastation.
The same scenario above is what happens to a child who has been molested; the natural securities of Nature are torn down, leaving fear, hate, shame, and confusion as the new foundation of building a Family. Physical and emotional scars are so deep that certain natural abilities are thwarted forever.

Every Nation on Earth has its Evils. And, many of the Evils you mention have changed, by Law.
Without the Family, the World has nothing. Everything, morally, ethically, and spiritually, comes from the Family. That's because God made the Family. Every rule and every Law must be based upon the Family, period.
Guarding this Ordained Creation of God is vital to the future of our Planet, as judgment began with the Family and will end with the Family. Put it this way Aquila, when push comes to shove, ALL of us turn to our Families when nothing is left, IF they are healthy and strong.

i think when it comes to morals there is good people (that we consider good) who can do well raising their kids up in a decent way to be acceptable to the world.
But i personaly say those who believe in the bible can be greater parents. cause they can lay the foundation of Christology in their life, and start helping them to understand the bible.
so yes there can be good parents who dont believe in the bible, but a greater parent who beleives in the Bible teaches their kids things of the bible for eternal salvation..
